An important reflection for current and future clinic owners. For the last 4 weeks, my world has been thrown into a tailspin. My amazing practice manager resigned before Christmas ending ten wonderful years with me. She was dedicated, loyal, and an instrumental part of my business [and life].
“You could have 6 weeks to live… this mass is growing at a dangerously rapid rate.” These were the haunting words of my neurologist 48 hours after giving birth to your first child.
A gratitudist sees opportunity, rather than risk or elation. A challenge, rather than fear or ease. Room for improvement, rather than limitations. Constructive criticism, rather than judgement or falling on deaf ears.
Last week I had the pleasure of appearing on Allied Health TV in the UK to help inspire leadership and momentum in times when others find themselves in limbo. Thank you Steven Bruce, Claire Short & The Academy of Physical Medicine for inviting me. For more...
What makes a health practitioner great? Ultimately, there was one virtue that stood tall amongst the others – empathy.
Finally, all your government financial links in one easy accessible place.
Leading when you are in limbo does not mean you have to be 100% certain; it is having the courage to act during the most uncertain times.
When we keep practicing (behaviour) and yet we know that touching someone is proven to increase the risk of Covid-19 spread (cognition), we are in a state of cognitive dissonance.
If we stop practicing (behaviour), which we know will drastically affect our income or remove a valuable service to the community (cognition), we are in a state of cognitive dissonance.
Let this virus be our philosophical re-calibration.
Love, gratitude and connectivity have never been so important.
Let this time be hallmarked in history as the moment the world was ‘reset’ for the better.
A catalyst for positive change and a moment to reflect on what matters most.
Whilst we are courageous, we are also human. Cracks will appear at some stage. I am determined to beat this and come out better on the other side. I am constantly looking for new innovations and embracing any opportunities that present. I am staying strong and keeping my head up; relentless in my approach for my team and the people I love. But I’m not going to lie, it finally got to me yesterday.
Upcoming Employment Workshop!
Employment Workshop Update.
To be announced soon.
When the external environment shifts dramatically, it can be hard to know which direction is the right one. In this one-on-one session with Jade Scott you'll work through easing the pressure on you as a business owner.
The current pressure on business owners has forced us to find ‘an new normal’ and alter at a pace never seen before. The ability to see through this maze of uncertainty is a focus of the session. As well as how to effectively communicate these changes to your team, especially as novel pockets of growth become available.
